Code of Ethics

The rules we play by. Always and without exception.

Why ethics matters to us

Personnel consultancy is a profession built on trust. Our clients entrust us with information about their companies, plans and people. Candidates entrust us with their professional history, ambitions and concerns. This trust is a commitment for us — not a marketing slogan.

The Code of Ethics of Trautenberk Consulting s.r.o. is grounded in the belief that long-term success in recruitment is only possible when everyone involved — clients, candidates and ourselves — comes away from every engagement feeling that they have been treated fairly and with respect.

This Code is binding on all consultants and collaborators of Trautenberk Consulting s.r.o.

⚖️
"We believe that every person deserves their chance. Regardless of where they come from, what they look like or what their history is. Our job is to create that chance — and to be fair to everyone in doing so."

Everyone deserves their chance

We believe that talent, diligence and character are not a matter of age, gender, nationality, health or life circumstances. We reject prejudice and ready-made boxes. We evaluate every candidate on the basis of their actual skills, experience and potential — nothing else.

In practice, this means:

✅ We assess a 55+ candidate with the same rigour as a graduate. Experience has value.
✅ We do not automatically reject a candidate with a gap in their CV. We ask, we listen, and we understand the context.
✅ We see a candidate from abroad, with a different mother tongue or cultural background, as an asset — not a complication.
✅ We inform unsuccessful candidates of the reasons — if they wish to know. Feedback is part of respect.
✅ We openly tell clients when their requirements border on discrimination. Their satisfaction matters to us — but not at any price.

The Code in practice

Six areas in which our commitment is demonstrated every day.

🤝

1. Relationship with candidates

  • We treat every candidate with respect and human dignity — regardless of whether they are suitable for the role in question or not.
  • We never share information about a candidate with a third party without their explicit consent.
  • We do not provide candidates with false or misleading information about the role, remuneration or company environment.
  • Our placement services are always free of charge for candidates. We never request any fee from applicants for our services.
  • We provide feedback on the outcome of a selection process to any candidate who requests it.
  • We refuse to participate in any selection process whose criteria are discriminatory on grounds of gender, age, nationality, religion, health, marital status or other irrelevant factors.
🏢

2. Relationship with clients

  • We always provide clients with truthful and complete information — even when it may be uncomfortable.
  • We promise only what we can genuinely deliver. Inflated promises are unprofessional.
  • Clients' internal information — on strategy, structure, remuneration or employees — is strictly confidential and is never used for our own benefit.
  • We decline assignments that are contrary to legal requirements or the principles of this Code.
  • In the event of a conflict of interest, we will notify the client.
  • We accept payment exclusively for services that have been genuinely provided and agreed.
🔒

3. Data protection

  • We process personal data exclusively in accordance with applicable legislation, in particular the GDPR.
  • Data is retained only for as long as necessary and is protected against unauthorised access.
  • CVs and personal profiles are not shared with anyone without the knowledge and consent of their owner.
  • Upon request, we will disclose what data we hold about a given individual, and will delete it upon request.
⚖️

4. Non-discrimination and equal opportunities

  • We are committed to full compliance with anti-discrimination law and the Labour Code.
  • Selection criteria must be based exclusively on the professional requirements of the role.
  • We will openly tell a client if we consider their requirements to be discriminatory — and explain why.
  • Age, gender, marital status, nationality, religion or health are not relevant selection criteria, unless required by the nature of the work under law.
🎯

5. Professionalism and quality

  • We continuously develop our knowledge and keep abreast of labour market developments and new selection methods.
  • We recommend only candidates of whose suitability we are genuinely confident.
  • We honour deadlines and commitments. If a deadline cannot be met, we inform all parties in advance.
  • Breach of the principles of this Code is considered a serious professional failing.
🌱

6. Responsibility to society

  • We regard connecting people with opportunities as a socially responsible activity — not merely a business.
  • We actively promote diversity in the workplace and advocate its value to clients.
  • We refuse to engage in practices that could lead to the exploitation of candidates or unfair competition.
  • We operate in full compliance with the laws of the Czech Republic and European law.
